Northern Lights School Division No.113 is a provincial school system serving a predominantly Indigenous school population throughout an area encompassing the entire northern half of Saskatchewan. The schools are very diverse ranging from 10 to over 500 students per school, and catering to Cree, Dene, Métis, French, and English cultures and languages.
NLSD provides a full range of pre-kindergarten to Grade Twelve programs to more than 4300 students in 21 schools. We have offices located in the beautiful communities of La Ronge and Beauval, both approximately 400 kilometers north of Saskatoon.
The division is progressively piloting programs unique to Canada, staying on the cutting edge of technology, and integrating the varied cultural aspects of the communities into the classrooms.

FTE: Full-time
Term of Employment: Temporary to June 27, 2025
Salary and Benefits: According to the provincial salary grid (www.stf.sk.ca) plus a benefits package that includes subsidized, furnished housing and a Northern living allowance. Moving assistance may also be available.

Qualifications:
- Saskatchewan Professional A Teacher’s Certificate (or confirmation of eligibility)
- Additional coursework in Special/Inclusive Education would be considered an asset
- Willingness to acquire any Special/Inclusive Ed courses needed is required (through NLSD Sponsorship)
- Knowledge and experience applying best practices in the areas of instruction, adaptive dimension, differentiation, curriculum, environment and assessment
- Knowledge of a variety of specific student needs that may include learning disabilities, attentional difficulties, autism, multiple disabilities, cognitive disabilities etc.
- Knowledge of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit languages, histories, and cultures
- Demonstrated ability to work well within a team as well as independently
The successful candidate will:
- Work within a team to support students with diverse needs in the following ways:
- Complete referrals
- Create Inclusion and Intervention Plans (IIPs)
- Mentor educational assistants
- Collaborate and consult with student services consultants, specialists, outside agencies, and parents
- Monitor and participate in programming that addresses students' critical needs
- Other duties as assigned by the school administration
