Northern Lights School Division No.113 is a provincial school system serving a predominantly Indigenous school population throughout an area encompassing the entire northern half of Saskatchewan. The schools are very diverse ranging from 10 to over 500 students per school, and catering to Cree, Dene, Métis, French, and English cultures and languages.


NLSD provides a full range of pre-kindergarten to Grade Twelve programs to more than 4300 students in 21 schools. We have offices located in the beautiful communities of La Ronge and Beauval, both approximately 400 kilometers north of Saskatoon.

 

The division is progressively piloting programs unique to Canada, staying on the cutting edge of technology, and integrating the varied cultural aspects of the communities into the classrooms.

 

This position requires extensive travel.

Term of Employment: Continuing

Salary and Benefits:  Salary is based on education and experience. An excellent benefits package is offered.

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in either Speech and Language Pathology or Communication Disorders.
  • Must qualify for licensing with the Saskatchewan Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists
  • Must qualify for membership with the Speech-Language and Audiology Canada (SAC)
  • Word processing skills would be considered an asset.
  • Valid Driver's License

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide assessment to students in a number of communities in Northern Saskatchewan
  • Interventions for home and school when necessary

Other Duties May Include:

  • Participation and leadership in professional development for school staff
  • Collaboration in program development with other school board personnel
  • Case management
  • Record Keeping
