Northern Lights School Division No.113 is a provincial school system serving a predominantly Indigenous school population throughout an area encompassing the entire northern half of Saskatchewan. The schools are very diverse ranging from 10 to over 500 students per school, and catering to Cree, Dene, Métis, French, and English cultures and languages.


NLSD provides a full range of pre-kindergarten to Grade Twelve programs to more than 4300 students in 21 schools. We have offices located in the beautiful communities of La Ronge and Beauval, both approximately 400 kilometers north of Saskatoon.

 

The division is progressively piloting programs unique to Canada, staying on the cutting edge of technology, and integrating the varied cultural aspects of the communities into the classrooms.

 

The Administrative Assistant will assist the Student Services, Accounting and Human Resource departments on various projects.  Projects are chosen based on a combination of business needs and the summer student's skills and strengths. 

 

Location:  Central Division Office, La Ronge

Start Date: May 1, 2024

FTE: Full-Time

Term of Employment: Temporary - to August 31, 2024

Salary and Benefits:  $21.26/hour

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a student enrolled in post-secondary classes, with preference being given to programs in Education and Business Administration
  • Must maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Have a willingness to learn, must be reliable and trustworthy
  • Competent computer skills with Microsoft 365 knowledge required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective time management, and organizational skills.

Job responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Data entry and filing
  • Compile data and other required information as needed
  • Photocopy/scan and collate documents for distribution, mailing and filing
  • Provide support for Student Services, Accounting and Human Resource departments
  • Provide coverage for the receptionist as required
