Early Years Family Resource Centres provide families with children prenatal to age five access to reliable information, programs and services to support their child’s development & family wellness. They provide early learning opportunities for young children through play-based activity and programming, parent education, family wellness and support as well as information and referrals to other services that support child and family development.

Salary and Benefits: Salary is based on education and experience. An excellent benefits package is offered.

Qualifications:
- Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education; OR,
- Level III Early Childhood Certification or a degree in the Human Services field, with extensive knowledge
of quality early learning environments. - Equivalent experience &/or education may be considered.
- Experience working in a collaborative environment with community partners.
- Proven ability to work both independently and as a team member.
- Must possess effective communication skills (both oral and written) as well as strong problem solving and
critical thinking skills. - Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Possesses strong computer skills.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license, have access to a reliable vehicle and obtain a $2,000,000.00 business
liability insurance policy. - Ability to travel and work flexible hours as required by the position
The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following duties:
- Develop strategies that address both short- and long-term sequential childhood development in children zero
to five and the knowledge and skills of parents and caregivers. - Utilize a strategic approach to translate theory into practice and oversee and guide implementation of
strategic programming at both Early Years Centres to ensure consistency with strategy and approach. - Use pedagogy and expert knowledge to mentor existing staff, assess and plan for staff development needs to
ensure high quality, reflective practice, research-based services, and the delivery of intentional programming. - Devise approaches to support parent and caregiver understanding of child development and support positive
parent-child relationships. - Work with other staff to support this work and ensure that programming connects to child's developmental
outcomes, intentional practice, and key takeaways for parents and caregivers. - Use existing resources to support community development initiatives, ensuring that the Centres are
embedded and aligned with other early years services in the communities and play a role in the support and
development of children and families in the communities. - Create or build partnerships with early years partners to enhance and expand programming at the Centres.
- Nurture the organizational reputation within the communities as the trusted place for early years resources
and information. - Implement provincial recommendations identified through provincial strategies and priorities with a focus
on creating easier access and “one door” service approaches.
